Hey everyone! As many of you know, I have proudly been a part of Board of Directors for Hotel Ezra Cornell (HEC) this year. HEC is a not-for-profit hospitality conference run entirely by students at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration. This year is the 98th Annual HEC, and we are so excited that this year's theme is Expo: envisioning and sustainable and equitable future through global hospitality. HEC has been an extremely meaningful community for me in my freshman, sophomore, and junior years of college, and I am so grateful to this organization.
In envisioning our theme and sticking to our tradition of giving back, we will be working with stuffed animal sustainability company Bears for Humanity. Alongside Bears for Humanity, I am starting a campaign to raise money for the The Upstate Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation to receive and administer gifts and bequests for charitable purposes with a focus on patient care, education, scientific research, and community health and well-being. Bears for Humanity is dedicated to making a variety of 100% sustainable and ethical goods, including organic teddy bears, while helping local communities. HEC is supporting the The Upstate Foundation by selling teddy bears, and for each teddy bear sold, a bear will be donated to one of the organizations as well as a percentage of the purchase price.
Feel free to reach me directly at emd266@cornell.edu or (973) 868-9748 should you have any questions about my campaign. Thank you so much in advance for your donations and support!
